7 steps to prosperity living

Step #3 Get clarity about what you desire & expect it

If we aren't crystal clear about our intentions and desires we're liable to go off on any path.

If you've ever felt chaotic, confused or completely off-center, perhaps getting clear about what you want your life to look like is a good place to begin.

When I teach people to create their vision by getting to their purpose for being here I'm very clear that "what happens in vagueness stays in vagueness!"

When we're vague about our purpose and what we'd like our lives to look and feel like we continue to struggle while asking the questions "is this all there is?" and "why am I even here?"

This isn't a good place to continue to live from and until we do have that clarity we have very low expectations both of and for ourselves. Once we're clear we must expect our good to show up. It's always been very interesting to me that when something not so wonderful happens we'll say "well, I expected that!" but we are very unlikely to say "well, I expected that!" when something marvelous occurs.

Why is that? We've been led to believe the lie that it's just not safe to have high expectations because then when they don't manifest we won't be too disappointed.

How's that workin' for us? Not well I would venture to say, by the looks of things.

Let's get clear about our purpose and vision and move from that clarity into expecting it to show up. Come on - take a risk with me.

It's a new year - why not? I don't really like where I've been in ten but I've done a lot of inner work and am ready to expect and experience heaven in eleven! Want to come along?

7 steps to prosperity living

#2 Love yourself, love life, serve others

The first person you have to love and respect is yourself. If you don't begin there you will not authentically love anyone else nor will you respect them.

Once you understand that loving yourself is key you can move on to loving life and go about creating a bigger, more purposefully prosperous life (including money).

Then we go about being of service. Sometimes it's that simple. It's not always easy but if we begin with simplicity then through ease and grace we move into a life we love to live.

As Shakespere said "to thine own self be true...." and from that follows all the rest.

7 steps to prosperity living

#1 Create a solid, positive, grateful attitude.

When we practice an attitude of gratitude we are priming the pump for something better to come into our lives. Yes, I mean being grateful for whatever is going on at any given time and for wherever we are - even if we don't really like it at that moment.

Whenever I suggest this exercise to someone and they tell me "I don't have anything to be grateful for!", I ask them if they've stubbed their toe that morning. They look at me as if I'm crazy and tell me no; I say then you do have something to be grateful because we've probably all stubbed our toe and know how badly that hurts so if we didn't stub our toe that morning, we can be grateful to not be in that pain. Yes?

This may seem very silly and a useless exercise but it does work. It's one of the ways the law of attraction does work in our lives.

Be grateful and be ready for a better life.

7 Strategic Solutions for Creating a New Relationship with Money

Strategic Solution #7

Work the plan & be willing to stay awake and aware of your money at all time

It’s very easy to get caught up in all of the negative conversation around money and the economy in "times like these", however, we must put together a plan and creat our own times.

I understand that when the bank account gets low and jobs or a job isn’t forthcoming as quickly as we feel we “need” it, it also gets very scary.

By staying awake and aware of exactly where we are with our money, we can move THROUGH it rather than stay stuck in it.

This is not the time to be vague about your money. Even if there’s not much right now - stay awake to it and what can be done to create more. It may seem quite unrealistic but we must think out of the box. Trust me on this one - personal experience tells me it’s so.

7 Strategic Solutions for Creating a New Relationship with Money

Strategic Solution #6:

Include yourself in your business plan of circulation and yes, your business must have a plan.

I’ve owned my own business for over 25 years. I really never thought about separating business and personal accounts until about 8 years ago.

Once I did that and I knew exactly how much I needed to live on each month, I was able to create a plan of circulation for my business and plug myself into that plan and then proceed from there. Your business must pay you - yes? This must be a no-brainer.

Including myself in my business plan has made it easier to run my business with more clarity. Even when I make loans to the company, I keep track of the exact amount I’ve loaned with the intention of paying myself back.

Make a plan, include yourself in the plan and follow it - period.

7 Strategic Solutions for Creating a New Relationship with Money

Strategic Solution #5:

Create a Plan of Circulation
(formerly known as a budget)

I began thinking about how to create a plan for where your money goes each month and what to call it.

Budget is too much like the word diet. We don’t like diets and, therefore, they usually don’t work.

Spending plan makes me think of being spent - you come home from work really tired and say “Whew, I’m really spent” meaning your energy is drained. We don’t want to think of our money as being spent.

Plan of circulation fits best as we always want our money circulating - in and out. Remember more money can't come in if we hoard what we've got from a place on "not enough", the belief that there will never be enough.

We must know there is always enough and come from that place.
