7 steps to prosperity living

Step #3 Get clarity about what you desire & expect it

If we aren't crystal clear about our intentions and desires we're liable to go off on any path.

If you've ever felt chaotic, confused or completely off-center, perhaps getting clear about what you want your life to look like is a good place to begin.

When I teach people to create their vision by getting to their purpose for being here I'm very clear that "what happens in vagueness stays in vagueness!"

When we're vague about our purpose and what we'd like our lives to look and feel like we continue to struggle while asking the questions "is this all there is?" and "why am I even here?"

This isn't a good place to continue to live from and until we do have that clarity we have very low expectations both of and for ourselves. Once we're clear we must expect our good to show up. It's always been very interesting to me that when something not so wonderful happens we'll say "well, I expected that!" but we are very unlikely to say "well, I expected that!" when something marvelous occurs.

Why is that? We've been led to believe the lie that it's just not safe to have high expectations because then when they don't manifest we won't be too disappointed.

How's that workin' for us? Not well I would venture to say, by the looks of things.

Let's get clear about our purpose and vision and move from that clarity into expecting it to show up. Come on - take a risk with me.

It's a new year - why not? I don't really like where I've been in ten but I've done a lot of inner work and am ready to expect and experience heaven in eleven! Want to come along?

7 steps to prosperity living

#2 Love yourself, love life, serve others

The first person you have to love and respect is yourself. If you don't begin there you will not authentically love anyone else nor will you respect them.

Once you understand that loving yourself is key you can move on to loving life and go about creating a bigger, more purposefully prosperous life (including money).

Then we go about being of service. Sometimes it's that simple. It's not always easy but if we begin with simplicity then through ease and grace we move into a life we love to live.

As Shakespere said "to thine own self be true...." and from that follows all the rest.

7 steps to prosperity living

#1 Create a solid, positive, grateful attitude.

When we practice an attitude of gratitude we are priming the pump for something better to come into our lives. Yes, I mean being grateful for whatever is going on at any given time and for wherever we are - even if we don't really like it at that moment.

Whenever I suggest this exercise to someone and they tell me "I don't have anything to be grateful for!", I ask them if they've stubbed their toe that morning. They look at me as if I'm crazy and tell me no; I say then you do have something to be grateful because we've probably all stubbed our toe and know how badly that hurts so if we didn't stub our toe that morning, we can be grateful to not be in that pain. Yes?

This may seem very silly and a useless exercise but it does work. It's one of the ways the law of attraction does work in our lives.

Be grateful and be ready for a better life.

7 Strategic Solutions for Creating a New Relationship with Money

Strategic Solution #7

Work the plan & be willing to stay awake and aware of your money at all time

It’s very easy to get caught up in all of the negative conversation around money and the economy in "times like these", however, we must put together a plan and creat our own times.

I understand that when the bank account gets low and jobs or a job isn’t forthcoming as quickly as we feel we “need” it, it also gets very scary.

By staying awake and aware of exactly where we are with our money, we can move THROUGH it rather than stay stuck in it.

This is not the time to be vague about your money. Even if there’s not much right now - stay awake to it and what can be done to create more. It may seem quite unrealistic but we must think out of the box. Trust me on this one - personal experience tells me it’s so.

7 Strategic Solutions for Creating a New Relationship with Money

Strategic Solution #6:

Include yourself in your business plan of circulation and yes, your business must have a plan.

I’ve owned my own business for over 25 years. I really never thought about separating business and personal accounts until about 8 years ago.

Once I did that and I knew exactly how much I needed to live on each month, I was able to create a plan of circulation for my business and plug myself into that plan and then proceed from there. Your business must pay you - yes? This must be a no-brainer.

Including myself in my business plan has made it easier to run my business with more clarity. Even when I make loans to the company, I keep track of the exact amount I’ve loaned with the intention of paying myself back.

Make a plan, include yourself in the plan and follow it - period.

7 Strategic Solutions for Creating a New Relationship with Money

Strategic Solution #5:

Create a Plan of Circulation
(formerly known as a budget)

I began thinking about how to create a plan for where your money goes each month and what to call it.

Budget is too much like the word diet. We don’t like diets and, therefore, they usually don’t work.

Spending plan makes me think of being spent - you come home from work really tired and say “Whew, I’m really spent” meaning your energy is drained. We don’t want to think of our money as being spent.

Plan of circulation fits best as we always want our money circulating - in and out. Remember more money can't come in if we hoard what we've got from a place on "not enough", the belief that there will never be enough.

We must know there is always enough and come from that place.

7 Strategic Solutions for Creating a New Relationship with Money

Strategic Solution #4:

Understand and move into the belief that there is always enough

I understand that if you are in the situation where you have more month than money, it seems as if there’s never enough.

I would like you to consider that as long as you talk about, believe and concentrate on “there isn’t ever enough”, that’s exactly what you will keep getting.

I absolutely understand how crazy this may sound. However, I’d like you to give this a shot and trust me when I say that if you think about having enough and knowing that what you do have IS enough you will continue to see more come into your life. Whatever the more is: money, time, love, happiness, etc.

What you must know first is: YOU are enough. Just the way you are and whatever financial position you're in. Once you know you're good enough, worthy, deserving and you matter then the outer will change and manifestation of what you do want will be forthcoming.

Starting in January I'll be posting blogs on my website - www.moneyvisions.net - and they are going to be interactive, you'll be able to post back. We're working on that "as we speak" so stay tuned.

7 Strategic Solutions for Creating a New Relationship with Money

Strategic Solution #3 for Creating a New Relationship with Money

Know precisely how much money you circulate EVERY month including items that aren’t due monthly.

Yes, more and more people have no idea where their money goes every month. So many times they believe it’s because they don’t make enough. Not true.

I help you get in touch with how much you need to live on. The next realization is to keep track of the outflow of your money.

It’s important to know how much is going where, especially those “little things” that add up to the not-having-enough syndrome.

So...get clear about where your money goes and you can begin to grow your money to your benefit.

Strategic Solution #2 for Creating a New Relationship with Money

7 Srategic Solutions for Creating a New Relationship with Money

1. Know exactly how much you earn including any interest or loan payments
2. Know exactly how much you NEED to live on and ways to create it
3. Know precisely how much money you circulate EVERY month including items that aren’t monthly
4. Understand and move into the belief that there is always enough - it’s an abundant Universe
5. Create a plan of circulation, formerly known as a budget
6. Include yourself in your business plan of circulation and yes, your business must have a plan
7. Work the plan and stay awake and aware of your money at all times

Strategic Solution #2:

Know exactly how much you NEED
to live on and ways to create it.

Yes, knowing how much you earn is #1, however, knowing how much you need to live on is imperative.

So many people have no clue exactly how much they need to live AND they don’t know what they spend each month on what.

This whole area of vagueness is, in my opinion, the number one cause of the financial “mess” so many people are in today.

So....figure out what you need each month and go from there.

7 Strategic Solutions for creating a new relationship with money:

Strategic Solution #1:

Know exactly how much you earn including any interest or loan payments

It is of the utmost importance that you know exactly what you bring in each month. In fact, it’s the prelude to knowing what goes out.

This is the first step in becoming clear - crystal clear - in your relationship with money. Clarity around the energy of money is the simplest way we have of bringing more into our lives, keeping it circulating as it were.

It is quite amazing how when we become clear about something it opens up channels for more to come in.

Know with clarity how much you earn and everything that comes and move with clarity to having more, keeping circulating as it were.

What is purposeful prosperity?

The meaning of the word ‘purpose’ as a verb is: have as one's intention or objective. As a noun, it is: the reason for which something is created or for which something exists.

The word prosperity as a verb means: to do or fare well. Prosperity as an adjective means: improving, growing or succeeding steadily. Prosperity as a noun means: state of health, happiness, welfare and well-being. Put simply, it’s the conditions of being successful or thriving.

Purposeful prosperity is looking at our lives in a purposeful way and creating them to be prosperous, not only money-wise but in the very reason for which we exist.

When I talk about purposeful prosperity, I'm coming from a place that says we already have enough and we are enough because the not-enough belief is simply a self-judgment.

There is no evidence, and I would certainly stress, that this particular self- judgment is neither useful nor beneficial. In fact, the evidence suggests that when we have this particular judgment, whether it’s that we don't have enough or we are not enough, it is damaging and it reinforces inappropriate behavior that can express as negative or not so wonderful outcomes again and again.

Since the Universe only says yes, it has been proven over and over again that, if we have the thoughts that we’re not enough or that there isn't enough, that is what we demonstrate and manifest in our lives. What is quite interesting is that we have no problem believing the Universe says yes when we have those negative self judgments or that negative self talk because so many times we’ll say “well, I knew that was going to happen.”

How often have you or anyone you have talked to had positive thoughts about themselves or their prosperity and then when the Universe said yes to those thoughts or words they said, “see, I knew it was going to be good?”

Why is it that we are so willing to buy into the lie that we've been told over and over again that we are not enough and, certainly, there isn't enough - whether it's time, money, love, looks, youth - you name it? There is an abundance of ‘not-enough-ness’ going around.

So when I talk about purposeful prosperity, I'm coming from a place of being authentic in your intention to live a prosperous life: one of profitability (which certainly is about money) one of affluence and wealth and luxury and comfort and security and well-being and serenity. There are many people that have a lot of monetary prosperity in the world and they are in no way purposeful about it and they certainly do not have serenity around it.

When I talk about allowing your divinely inspired life purpose to come forth and to go about creating a life from that place, then you are living on purpose and you will have the prosperity that follows in many different forms.

I've not heard anyone talk about purposeful prosperity and I feel like it's really about personal, purposeful prosperity. So when I'm asking you to make it personal, I am saying “take the responsibility for creating your life purpose, living your life on purpose and then going out and becoming prosperous from a place of purpose”.

When you're looking within - really going deep around the questions “What am I here for? What have I come to be and offer in the world?” - you are then coming from a place of authentic “digging” at a ‘soulular’ level.

This is really deep work and I would venture to say that you already know what it is you want. It's so easy to say “I don't have any idea what I want” yet I would wager to bet that you go through most of your life saying things like “I don't like that, that's not where I wanted to go, I didn't ask for this”. Doesn't this speak to what you don't want? All you would really have to do is look at all of the times you said similar things and create the opposite to see what it is you do want. When you're willing to sit and ponder that, then you will be able to know what you want in the way of “how do I want to live my life from a purposeful place?”

There has been much talk about purpose in the world yet, in my on-purpose coaching practice around purposeful prosperity, the one piece I know is missing is to find first what has been running your life. From there, you can look deeper into the work of creating your life purpose and therefore live a life of purposeful prosperity.

Can money buy happiness?

Actually money cannot buy us happiness, however, I would absolutely say that it's better to have money than to not have money. Can you spend your way to a sunnier outlook on life? Sometimes it would certainly seem that way wouldn’t it?

We see the ads on television all the time that tell us if we I a certain luxury car we will be happier. Now, that's not to say we won't be happier driving a more comfortable, safer, prettier car but let's look at it from the material aspect of it. If one has the money to buy a luxury car and is able to afford it without it putting any stress in their lives around money, then certainly they feel good and happy about having a new car.

It’s a really fine line in making the distinction around some thing making us happy and feeling happy because we've purchased some thing that we wanted that’s new and that we can afford.

We are particularly seeing these days how many people bought many things that they could not afford and have absolutely no happiness. Truly they are as far away from feeling happy as they possibly could, because now they cannot afford them.

It's really being made manifest in the physical form for us to see how we really haven’t been able to make that distinction. Many people these days are going back to a much simpler way of life.

If one buys a luxury car they can't afford, life is anything but simple when it comes time to make that monthly payment. If they have purchased that luxury car by planning for it - absolutely knowing they have enough money for a down payment that allows them to afford the monthly payments when it comes time to make them - it's very simple. All they have to do is write the check and it's done.

There’s such a thing called ‘money misery’ but I would contend that it’s ‘money miserly’ that creates the ‘money misery’. What do I mean by this? What we are seeing lately is that we're never satisfied. We always think, “If we had just a little bit more money, we'd be happier,” says Catherine Sanderson of psychology professor at Amherst College. It's the thinking “If I had just a little bit more I'd be happier” that gets us into trouble. Because, when we believe that we need just a little bit more, we are really saying that we can never have enough. As we continue to go through life believing that we’ll never have enough, we continue to live the life of never having enough.

Once we get our basic human needs met, a lot more money doesn't make for a lot more happiness. What are the human needs? A roof over our head that is safe, food on the table, a nice car that is safe to drive and dependable that we can afford, and whatever else we have to have to support ourselves and/or our families.

What we are really looking for is financial security and, even more than that, financial serenity. What is going on in our society today is not so much the financial bankruptcy that we see but a spiritual bankruptcy that we don’t see and sometimes don’t even know to look for.

When we are spiritually bankrupt we can never get enough of what we don't want. What we don't want is misery, discomfort, sadness, anger, and any of the other feelings that come up that simply don't feel good. When we start looking at money and/or things as providing our happiness, then we are looking to the outside for our lives to get better. We have to look inside and from there bring out the happiness that we already possess to create more security in our lives.

What's happening is that we've overestimated how much pleasure we’re going to derive from having more. More than likely, many of us have, at one time, had more than enough in a 24-hour period.

That's one of the things about the 12-step program that I like so much. It's about living right here right now, one day at a time. When we get into thinking that we don't have enough, we need to bring ourselves right back to this moment and ask ourselves: “In this moment do I have enough?” Now, it may very well be that you don't have food at this moment, that you don't have a place to live at this moment, so for those people the answer is “No, in this moment I do not have enough.” That is why I said “many of us”. There will always be exceptions. I'm not speaking to the exceptions. I am not in the way negating those exceptions, but for the intention of this conversation, I am not speaking to those exceptions.

The truth is that while earning more may make you happy in the short term, you quickly adjust to that new “wealth” and everything that it buys you. Yes, you get an instant thrill and it feels really good but eventually if you come from a place of “I’ll never have enough”, when you do get more or enough, it wears off very quickly and you're right back to “I don't have enough, I want more and then I'll be happy.”

It's like setting a goal to lose 25 pounds and achieving that goal then saying, “no, maybe just another 5 pounds and I'll be good enough”. It starts the cycle all over again.

What we don't hear a lot of people talk about is the fact that more money can cause more stress. Not that having more money is more stressful but having more money creates the need to take more responsibility for the money you have.

What I mean by this is, having $100,000 takes more thought than having $1,000. Are you ready to step up to the plate of responsibility that having $100,000 brings to you?

Look at the history of lottery winners; they've won millions and within a year some of them have had nothing left. I believe that’s about having a millionaire consciousness and with developing a millionaire consciousness the million comes and with it also comes the millionaire responsibility.

There was a study done and quoted in Money magazine back in August of 2006 some of those statistics are quite interesting when it comes to happiness. It’s better to be rich than to be poor - 56% of people who make more than $75,000 a year say they are “very satisfied” with life. Only 24% of people who make $25,000 a year or less say they are “very satisfied” with life. That's the part of “having money is easier than not having money.” But then once you earn enough to cover your basic needs, being much richer doesn't make you happier. 42% of people who earn $50,000 to $89.9 thousand a year say they are “very happy.” Of the people who are in the $90,000 plus a year earning category, 43% say they are “very happy”, a difference of only 1%.

Once we reach a certain amount, let's say the $90,000 mark, having way more money than that is not going to create or make us happier. That is an inside job. So, I encourage you to look within and really examine what is your happiness factor? Where are you on a scale of 1 to 10 in happy? If we took money off the table where would you put yourself?

The truth is Americans have become richer. Again this is quoted in Money magazine from August of 2006. In 1957, the average income was $10,171 a year and 35% of the people were very happy. In 1980, the average income was $17,931 a year and 34% of the people were very happy down 1% with an increase of some $7,840 a year. In 2004, the average income, almost 3 times that of 1957, $27,237 a year and the percentage of people that were very happy was the same as in 1980 - 34%, 24 years later. So, I would contend that although Americans have become richer, we've also become more about stuff and material items.

People who value money highly are less happy than those who care more about love and friends. I would change that to say, people who value friends, love and family are also people who can value money highly. And when I talk about value I mean respect.

Respect yourself, respect your money, you will have both.

Is Ignorance Really Bliss?

I don't really use the word ignorance anymore, because I don’t feel you are. What I've replaced that with is vagueness. It is my feeling, and so many things that I look at these days confirm this, that so many of us are living in terminal vagueness when it comes to our money, how much of it we spend, exactly what we earn and exactly what do we need to live on.

I believe that we all need a serious financial wake-up call and the alarm is sounding! We are in what is being called the worst recession ever. Well, I'm not sure that someone living through the late 1920s and early 1930s would not beg to differ and tell you that was the worst ever.

We are indeed going through a challenging time. In fact, in my opinion, we are in the midst of a serious wake-up call and how better to be woken up than to be hit in our pocket books? We got woken up in August of 2005 with Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. However, if we didn't live in that area and weren’t hit personally by that tragedy, it all seemed to go away and we don't have to think about it anymore.

The tsunami happened and, yes, that was yet another tragedy (wake-up call), however, that was in a completely different country then the United States so it didn't affect many of us in this country personally. So unless we had a friend or knew someone who was there at the time, it too went away.

Then there was the earthquake in Haiti and there was more talk about it and though it was more recent, it too has gone away, so to speak. Of course these things have not gone away, but they have not, for the most part, personally affected us.

Many of us have been affected by this downturn in the economy and, where money is concerned (since it seems to be the most volatile and yet important thing in our society), the effect is farther reaching and considered tragic on many levels.

Rather than react to where we are financially, where the world is financially or where the neighbors are financially, whether it's good or bad, the question is: how to respond? When we continue to react and try to force something to change, as is evidenced “out there”, it continues to get worse and it grows.

When we respond and calm down long enough to take a look at exactly what's going on - "What is my individual part in it and how has it affected me individually?" - then we can start the process of healing inward and take that outward.

I am not saying that we only think about ourselves and just keep our focus there. I am saying that when we start taking personal responsibility to respond to our individual situation and work at that level, from within first, then real healing can grow. When we can be an example of “I did it, so can you, let me show you how” then a whole lot of individuals together can create a change.

I don't hear a lot of talk about the vagueness that is so predominant around money and finances today. I hear a lot of blame and shame and even that’s getting to be vague. As long as we keep shaming and blaming and making it about somebody else before we clean our own backyard, that shame, blame and anger grows and we continue to get nowhere.

So my friends, the alarm is sounding (not has sounded), it continues to sound. How are you going to choose to respond? Why not join me in a personal revolution of ”my response is going to be personal responsibility, I will start with me and then move on to the world from there”.

I believe, from personal experience, that personal responsibility and work begins with CLARITY - NOT having terminal vagueness, burying our head in the sand, believing ignorance is bliss and thinking "if I just don't pay attention to it the problem will go away".

Join me in the personal revolution of “vagueness to clarity equals prosperity”!

Moving Beyond a Limiting Poverty Consciousness

Let's take a walk into the future. I don't mean living in the future of “what will it be like when, how can I make this happen”, etc.

I'm talking about having a vision of what you would like your future to look like five years from now. The way I want us to look at it is to be right where we are now, in the present.

When we look at where we are right now, even though we might not like what it looks like, it's a reality. The reality is we might have debt, we might be in a job we don't like, we might not have the kind of income that affords us to take a vacation, etc. However, when we know what we want and are willing to vision that for ourselves, then we can proceed with allowing vision to be created in our lives.

I’m not talking about sitting and taking no action and simply having magical thinking. But magical thinking is exactly what this takes because, in order to get our minds out of a limiting consciousness, it’s going to take a little magic, yes?

Let's say that you have $60,000 worth of debt, you've just lost your job, and you're upside down in your mortgage. Now, even though this is a pretty dire situation, it could be worse… or it could be better. The first thing I'm encouraging you to do is: make a decision for your life to get better for you.

That's what I'm talking about when I say let’s go five years into the future. Then look back on where you are today and, from that perspective, vision what you'd like to have your life look like. After you've made that decision, the first thing that’s necessary is for you to know what you want, and believe that you are worthy of having it.

We live in a society, particularly today, that tells us there isn't enough and we aren't enough. If we continue to buy into that lie, then looking at your life from the future isn’t very optimistic because we don't have the mindset it takes to create your ideal life.

I'm sure that many of you have heard of vision boards, vision books and creating visually what it is you’d like to have in your lives. I know that for the most part a lot of what comes up are material things. That's not to say that the material things we'd like to have are not okay to desire, however, what we really must understand is prosperity and abundance are more than material things or stuff. Prosperity and abundance also includes peace and serenity around wherever you are financially.

Regardless of where you are financially or with your jobs or your business, you’ve got to move into a place of having peace and serenity rather than only fear. That comes before you can get into a mindset of “what is it that I'd like to see in my life and how can I go about allowing this and creating my life to look this way?”

One of the things about our beliefs is that they're not necessarily true in and of themselves. But, if we believe them, they become true in our experience. You know the old saying “as a man thinks so shall he be” or “you get what you think about all day long”.

If this all sounds a bit airy-fairy, that's okay. The question that I would ask you is “how is looking at it from the perspective of world-speak working for you so far?” Because, if you do not have peace and serenity in your life, you feel that life is nothing but a struggle and are unhappy much of the time, then what would be the harm in looking at it from a perspective that might “look a bit crazy”? What harm is that?

Would it be okay with you if your life got better? Try it on, it couldn’t hurt.

True Wealth

To attract something, or the lifestyle you want, become as joyful as you think having that will make you. The joy, not the thing or the lifestyle, is the point.

True wealth is not just about money, it IS about a lifestyle. It’s about who you create yourself to be, how you act and what your true beliefs and core values are.

Here are 7 steps to create and maintain True wealth:

1. MAKE A COMMITMENT TO FINANCIAL CLARITY

Stop lying to yourself and others about what you owe, earn and can afford. When you’re in terminal vagueness, you are as far away from financial clarity and, therefore, True wealth as you can come.

2. STOP SETTLING FOR LESS OR JUST ENOUGH

If you’re in a job and haven’t received a raise and your workload has been increased – go to the boss and ask for a raise and, if it’s not forthcoming in the near future, ask when that might be a possibility. If you’re self-employed, stop under earning. As Suze Orman puts it: “stop putting yourself on sale.”

3. AVOID THE TRAPPINGS OF DEBT

Most of the time when we can pay cash for things, we choose not to. If you must use a credit card for an emergency or you use a credit card for mileage points – respect it. Pay as much on the monthly bill as possible and, pay it off in full when at all possible. If you can use cash or want something that you’d have to charge to get (not an emergency) DON’T do it, save for it instead. What a concept right?

4. CREATE YOUR FINANCIAL LIFE TO WORK WITHIN MODERATION

This isn’t to say that you don’t set an intention to continue to do better and grow your money - I’m saying that if you expect the value of your home to continue to go up astronomically like a bullet, think again. Expect it to go up (they always do – just like they will go down) but at a moderate growth. It’s kind of like weight loss – if you are a size 14 on Tuesday and want to fit into a size 10 by Saturday, it ain’t happennin’!

5. OPEN UP AND SHARE

Most people having financial challenges hold tightly to what they have – even to the point of hoarding. If you want to position yourself for having more you must open your hands and your heart by giving to others and sharing yourself.

6. DON'T SHOULD ON YOURSELF & GIVE YOURSELF A BREAK

You are where you are now. Respect that and know that it’s never too late to start a purposeful prosperity path. If you are reading this article you are, at the very least, ready to begin to live more responsibly when it comes to your finances. No blame, no shame – just begin.

7. CHOOSE WHAT YOU WANT PEOPLE TO REMEMBER

Will people remember you for what you bought for yourself or will they remember how willing you were to be there for others and serve? If you make “how may I be of service” the main question you ask at all times, trust me, you will get so much more than you give and the rewards are amazing. That’s the footprint to really consider leaving.

A $20.00 Bill

Sometimes we just need to be reminded that we must stop giving money more value than we give ourselves. Let’s start feeling like a million bucks and perhaps as we grow our consciousness, we’ll also grow our bank accounts.

It’s worth a go-‘round, yes?

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20.00 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?" Hands started going up.

He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this." He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill. He then asked, "Who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air.

Well, he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. "Now, who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air.

"My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20.

Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value.

Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you. The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or whom we know, but by WHO WE ARE and WHAT WE BE.

You are special! Don't EVER forget it.

Count your blessings, not your problems.

And remember: amateurs built the ark - professionals built the Titanic. Think about it!

If God brings you to it - God will bring you through it."

You Are Constantly Choosing Your Life and Your Abundance

When we step into choosing wealth and abundance in all areas of our lives we sometimes feel as if we can’t be spiritual. We must move away from the mindset that being rich and prosperous doesn’t mix with being spiritual.

I want to be rich and there is no way I believe that in being rich I’m not spiritual; quite the contrary. Being steeped in poverty is not being spiritual. Being poor doesn’t help the poor to not be poor.

Say it, believe it, feel it and own it! Do not be embarrassed by your desire for wealth. Put your power behind it. Connect to the thought that the more you have, the more you can do in the world. Money is an energy that allows you to help others and expand consciousness in your life and all around you.

As I’ve healed, I’ve become an example of what one is capable of doing. We have all hit bottom and had to climb back up. Certainly, if I’m capable of doing it and becoming abundant, so are you. If you choose to be a victim, that’s exactly what you’ll have as a way of life. If you choose to have abundance in all areas of your life, you will have an abundant life.

Living a life on purpose, as who you are, is having a life that works in all areas, including money. Money is simply a means of exchange and to not have it is to not be able to pay for any services rendered to us. You are constantly choosing your life and moving toward something not away from something. The difference is huge yet it sounds subtle. Energetically, it makes a big difference.

The millionaire mindset is the “I can do it” attitude, the “I will do it” attitude. The attitude is about gratitude and being thankful for everything you have as well as what you don’t have. When we can look at what our life is and know that we did choose it, we then can make the choice to change what we have. When we know that what we have is what we need, we create the space for more.

Wealth is a result of our consciousness. We resist looking at the connection between wealth and consciousness because we don’t want to think our bank account is attached to our spirituality and consciousness. Let go of believing that and embrace the idea that there is a connection. Make a different choice. We must connect consciousness and wealth so we can give ourselves permission to choose a life of abundance.

Check your consciousness and check your bank account balance. Make the choice to believe they go together and begin generating prosperity. It’s the only choice that makes life fulfilling and joyful. Ask yourself, “How can I make a choice to have everything I deserve and to know I do deserve it?” Make a choice to choose the life you love and know that life is never meant to be filled with struggle, lack and limitation.

We’re here to live purposefully and prosperously.

Charging What You're Worth

Taken from an article by Paul & Sarah Edwards

One of the main reasons so many small businesses struggle is because they chronically undercharge. Here’s a list of do’s and don’ts:

Don’t discount your prices for fear of not getting enough business, and don’t feel embarrassed to openly charge a fair fee for what you offer. Establish yourself in a specialty where you can excel at what you offer and charge accordingly.

Most importantly, do not apologize for charging - period. We mustn’t apologize for earning a living. Until we don’t apologize, we will never charge enough for our services and will remain chronic under-earners.

Don’t forget to cover your out-of-pocket expenses and your indirect costs for overhead and benefits in the fee you quote. Take advertising costs, office expenses, travel, health insurance, vacation and sick leave, and retirement benefits into consideration when setting your fees. Create a plan of circulation for you personally and then for your business.

Don’t forget you need to add on a reasonable profit so you can expand and grow your business. If you don’t make a profit, you won’t be in business too much longer.

Do quote fees openly and clearly upfront and get agreement, preferably in writing, before starting to work. Always talk about money with clarity. If you bring vagueness to the conversation of money the job or project will be fraught with problems. Talk about money early and often.

Do explain the way you work so the customer understands why doing the job in a “cheaper” way would actually be more expensive and will not achieve what he or she wants. Be upfront abut the experience you are “selling” and don’t take it personally if someone wants more clarity. That’s your opening to discuss money honestly.

Do calculate all costs and profit in any fixed fee you quote. Or, if you will be charging a fixed hourly fee plus costs, make that clear upfront as well. Be very clear about your hourly fee and how you work with that and when you will let them know where you are; i.e. after every hour or two hours? People want to know how the hourly billing works and they don’t want any guessing around this issue.

Do let a prospective client know beforehand if you will be charging a fee for your sales call, initial consultation or proposal development. Don’t surprise clients with a bill. Again, clarity is key and essential for having clear, open and honest communication thereby developing a relationship build on trust.

Do discuss any possible additional cost increases that you foresee arising with your clients, and obtain their authorization before proceeding with the project. Don’t be concerned that they will be upset, they may. What they’ll be more upset about is a surprise bill for an unforeseen expense that could easily have been discussed when it came up.

Never sell yourself short. Value what you provide. But remember: The only surprise your clients should have when they get the bill is what an outstanding project or service they got for the agreed-upon price. DO NOT apologize for making a profit or earning what you deserve to make a good life for yourself and your business.

Do you have what it takes to be rich?

In other words, are you willing and do you have the energy to move toward your financial prosperity? The key is to be willing. We will pretty much all say, “yes, of course, I want more money”. However, when I ask the question “are you willing to do what it takes to have this happen?”, I get quizzical looks that say to me “what do you mean by that?”

What I mean is, are you totally clear about how much you want/need to live on and what is it you are willing to be/do to create that in your life.

We must get over the notion that the rich have special powers and look for what really drives their success. I am willing to tell you that what contributes to that success, at least in part, is to be willing, energetic and focused. It’s not about right place, right time or luck, it’s about the mindset and attitude they have when it comes to their financial lives.

The good news is – we all have what it takes. Oprah does not have all the money. We must also look at the fact that there is already an Oprah and a Bill Gates. So, since they’re very good at being themselves, that brings us back to ourselves. We’re all unique and have just as much potential.

Start believing you can make it big and be successful and clear your mind of all the myths that this isn’t true for you. That it’s only true for others.

Successful people have the ability to extract the value from within them and know they have everything necessary to become a success and be financially responsible in and of themselves.

Root yourself in the present and live for and from today so that you don’t become overwhelmed with the whys and hows of your success. Move through one day at a time, one step at a time and success will be yours’.

If you’ve got an idea or several ideas, you’ve got what it takes to make success happen for you. It is, indeed, in our hands. Look at what your idea has that will benefit others not what the competition may be and say to yourself “It’s either worth millions or nothing!” Either way look within and not “out there” for your answers and they will come for you to either move forward or look at another idea. Just know it’s not the only shot you’ll have, as ideas are always forthcoming.

Remember, once you answer the question – Do You Have What it takes to be Rich? – you don’t get there by chasing money; you get there by coming from your passion and allowing it to flow.

Go forth and be abundant!!

Speaking in a Men's Correctional Facility

It was an honor for me to be called to speak to over 100 men in a correctional facility in southern California on the subject of debt and money.

Now, I’m sure some of you would think, “what would men – or women for that matter – in jail need to know about money since they probably don’t have any”, right? Well, what about when they were not in jail or when they re-enter society? What then? Most of them will go back to exactly who they were before they were caught and sentenced for whatever their crime may have been.

What we must know is that jail or prison as we currently know it DOES NOT work as far as “rehabilitating” anyone. It seems to be a breeding ground for learning more about “how to do crime well”. The thinking must be changed to, “how can the inmates be revitalized or taught they can be vital members of society. If they aren’t taught self-respect or self-love all of the money spent every year on and in the correctional system is for naught.

It was very empowering to see the men engaged and interested in, not only talking about money on a surface level but at a deeper, how can I rearrange my relationship with money way. I know many of you will say this is a ridiculous way of thinking but let’s think about it in terms of asking the question, “how well is it working the current way we’re doing it?”

It’s really not. I’m not sure what the rate of recidivism is but I would imagine it’s pretty high just going by the statistics of how much more money we spend building prisons vs creating better educational systems.

What I really hit heavy on was the vagueness and not-enoughness that permeates society and has for years. It was enlightening and encouraging to see the spark in their eyes and their demeanor when I talked about this. What’s really the difference between someone like Bernie Madoff who was a very wealthy “above it all” kind of guy, the white collar variety and the petty that robs someone at the ATM machine of $20?

Bottom line, the Universe doesn’t know the difference between the millions stolen by Madoff and his greed or the $20 taken for drugs or food. Stealing is stealing What we might want to consider is “how did we get so upside down in this country that we’re willing to bail out a large corporation (and then put it on my tab and yours’) but not supply the main-streeters with an education or a hand up so we can put an end to the $20 ATM robberies and stop the madness the continues to invade our society like the dis-ease that it is?”

7 Ideas to Kick-Start Your Financial Prosperity

1. PREPARE AN ABUNDANCE PLAN
Think as opulent as you can possibly think. Think outside the box and without limitations. Also, remember to think not only about money and things but about feelings and thoughts.

2. SECURITY COMES FROM KNOWING YOU DESERVE TO HAVE AN ABUNDANT LIFE
This is really where the rubber meets the road. It’s about going within to your heart and your mind and knowing you’re deserving and worthy of having an abundant life; whatever that looks like to you.

3. WE ALL WANT TO HAVE ENOUGH: MONEY, TIME, LOVE, ETC. HOWEVER, NOT MANY ARE WILLING TO DO THE WORK IT TAKES TO HAVE IT
Investigate what work is involved to allow more abundance to come in to your life?

4. BE AWARE AND AWAKE TO YOUR OWN BLOCKAGES
Let’s examine exactly where you’re putting up roadblocks to your happiness, success and serenity. As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Let us take our bloated nothingness out of the path of the divine circuits.”

5. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER, WISDOM FOLLOWS
Acquire all the knowledge you can by first recognizing that the answers are within you. There is absolutely nothing wrong with reading, journaling or having a coach. But know that with all of this knowledge outside or yourself we must get to the wisdom that’s within. This is truly the hardest work.

6. TRUST THE UNIVERSE TO PROVIDE ALL YOU NEED TO HAVE AN ABUNDANT LIFE
This is simply a knowing that there is always enough – of everything. As we become still and know this, it will become a Truth in our lives. Now, it’s not about just sitting. There is some doing involved. But first things first, become still and know then take action to generate your prosperity and abundance.

7. WE MUST DO OUR OWN WORK, NO ONE CAN DO IT FOR US
It’s just like going to the gym. We must do that for ourselves. A coach can lead you to the results but you must be willing to achieve them and that starts with the inner work and moves outward.

If you would like a coach to guide you in following this plan call Reva at MoneyVisions today and discuss the coaching options available.
